The excitement has now settled down and has been replaced by a profound aura of satisfaction throughout Timdom. Yes, it was a turbulent season during which we lost one of our most famous sons in Tommy Burns as well as witnessing the sad passing of Phil O'Donnell. Our faith tells us they have gone to a better place, but we are truly richer for having been touched by their lives. God rest them both.
So much for Wattie's quadruple, truly bypassed. Rangers attempt to wrest the SPL crown from Celtic petered out like a lit squib dipped in the Copeland Road end bog. Anti football got its just deserts and long may it continue.
Celtic on the other hand weathered a difficult spell mid season, turned it around and gathered strength in the run in. All credit to Gordon Strachan for shoving his critics' words right where the sun doesn't shine except with the help of a proctologist's night lamp. In particular, Gordon's signing of Barry Robson was a master stroke and quite possibly was the move that won the title. Barry was magnificent during the run in, strong, commanding and a fine example to his fellow professionals.
In all, a very successful campaign and who can argue with three SPL crowns in a row, not to mention reaching the last 16 of The Champions League fro the second time in succession. A great achievement for The Bhoys and the entire management team from top to bottom.
As for The New York Celtic Supporters Club, another season characterized by laughs, excitement and John Merrick Dillon's Pillow case. Over the close season we will be making preparations for the coming campaign, so stay in touch with www.nyceltic.com over the coming weeks for all the news that's fit to post about forthcoming goings on at The Parlour and The New York Celtic Supporters Cub. Watch out for some surprises along the way.
At this time also, please do not forget those less fortunate than ourselves who are having to put up with our gloating at the debacle wrought upon them by their Anti football tactics. its ok to have a right good laugh at their expense though !!!
